Villa Zeus Temple
A grand, spacious, very secluded villa with spectacular mountain and sea views set in a prime position overlooking Lourdas Bay. Zeus Temple’s unique architectural style and design make it a real “flagship” in our portfolio of stunning Kefalonia villas.
Based on an “open plan” design with an atrium in the center, the villa reflects the style and elegance of Greece’s historic temples.
This magnificent villa is tucked away at the end of a narrow lane and as a result enjoys almost complete seclusion. Bordering the terraces by the swimming pool at the front, to the sides and at the rear, is an extensive, colorful garden, which provides a pleasant blend of carefully landscaped plants and shrubs.
The large infinity-edge swimming pool sparkles alluringly in the sun, an incessant invitation to a refreshing dip. Alternatively, you may choose to recline on a comfortable sun bed beside the sparkling water, from where the eye is drawn to a point where the infinity-edge of the pool meets the horizon, stretching out over the edge of the cliff, towards the island of Zante shimmering in the heat haze.
Built is a classic but contemporary style, over two floors, the atmosphere of an original temple has been retained with the atrium style living space giving access to all the rooms from the center. Providing every modern comfort, the well placed doors and windows, flood the villa with light, with the lounge, dining, kitchen area and two bedrooms downstairs allowing easy access out to the gardens and terraces. Upstairs, the remaining two bedrooms, all with either en-suite bath or shower rooms are no less comfortable, and all have a terrace or a balcony, from which to admire the peaceful countryside and stunning sea views.
* Note: Due to the open-plan nature of the central atrium, this villa may not be suitable for families with younger children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.

Sports & nature
Turquoise seas, lush green vegetation, wild and sheer mountain scenery and a fascinating variegated geological profile have given Kefalonia a special atmosphere and beauty. Broad sandy beaches, small coves, and steep cliffs, steppe-like plains, fertile valleys, dense black forests of fir, a unique complex of caves and the highest mountain in the Ionian Islands, Mount. Aenos, standing at 1628m, are the most striking features of the island. Kefalonia is characterized by the creative forces of nature and three thousand years of cultural history.
Culture and history info
Across the broader island, two large monasteries are to be found: the first is that of Haghia Panagia, in Markopoulo to the southeast, and the other lies on the road between Argostoli and Michata, on a small plain surrounded by mountains. This second has an avenue of about 200 trees aligned from NW to SE, with a circle in the middle, and is the monastery of Saint Gerasimus of Kefalonia, patron saint of the island, whose relics can be seen and venerated at the old church of the monastery. The monastery of "Sissia" was probably found by Francis of Assisi, it was destroyed 1953 but the ruins still exist.
Although the island was destroyed by some earthquakes, many notable churches all over the island have survived. Some dating back to the renaissance. The ornaments of the churches are influenced by Venetian manierism.
