Nested on a hill surrounding Sivota Bay, this property offers you a space with an endless view on the Ionian blue sea and surrounding islands. Just a perfect place to find peace and rest during your holiday!
Choosing our villa for your vacation is a life time experience to enjoy with your family and friends. Lefkada is one of the last Ionian island still fairly protected from mass tourism and an over-constructed coast line. Its breath-taking beaches, natural coast and picturesque small villages remain one of the most amazing places to choose to discover in Greece.
The villa is composed of 4 bedrooms with double beds on 2 floors, a big living room, 2 bathrooms and an open kitchen attached to the living room. There is as well a balcony to enjoy the view during breakfast and a large infinity pool with a pergola, a BBQ and a shower on the outside area.
The entrance door opens directly into the living room and its balcony with a view on the Ionian islands. On the left side, a fully-equipped kitchen can welcome 6-8 people comfortably. Next to the living room there is a bathroom, one double bedroom and a staircase to the ground floor.
Ground floor is composed of 3 double bedrooms with access to an outside terrace and a swimming pool. There is one bathroom on the ground floor. This floor is the best place for bedroom as they are not directly hit by Sun during the day which leaves the bedrooms with a more stable temperature even during hot summer season.
An outside parking space can welcome up to 3 cars. Being part of a residence allows controlled access to the residence through a control gate. A remote controller is, of course, provided to access the residence.
The internet is working on a system of 3-4Gb wifi device. There is no land line in all the area where the villa is located. We will provide you a prepaid card of 5 Gb valid for 7 days. This is perfect to check emails or facebook pages but not fast enough for downloading movies, musics or streaming.
Location and accessibility:
Villa Kalithea is located just 1,5km from the village of Sivota. Sivota was originally a home of traditional Greek fishermen families who today are offering different range of services such as fine tavernas, bars, bakeries or markets that are available all season long from 8am until 12am. You can walk to the village (15-20 min) or go by car (5-8 min).
To reach the villa, you need to drive on an unsealed dusty road for about 850m. Normal vehicles can drive and access the residence as we usually improve the quality of the road every year after the heavy rain season. The road is good enough for standard cars. A 4×4 will make it more comfortable though. You can contact us if you need to reserve a rental car for your stay.

The unique island of Lefkada, also known and as Lefkas,is the fourth biggest island of the Ionion Sea,separated by the municipality of Aitoloakarnania by a lagoon. The name was given because of the white cliffs found at the Cape Lefkatas by Homer itself. On this Cape, you can find the ruins of the ancient temple of Apollo.
Being so close to the mainland,Lefkada is connected to it by a drawbridge above the channel and a bridge above the lagoon. Thanks to those bridges, Lefkada is the only greek island that can be reached by road.
Nine satellite islands surround Lefkada: Meganisi, Kalamos, Kastos, Madouri, Skorpidi, Skorpios, Thilia, Petalou, and Kythros.Skorpios is the most famous among those islands for being a private island of the famous Greek ship owner Aristotelis Onasis. Tourism came in the 1960′s, when the international press gathered on the island to be close to the shipping magnate Onassis and his wife Jackie.
Lefkada is also the birthplace of world famous artists, like the opera singer Agnes Baltsa, the writer Angelos Sikelianos, nominated for the Nobel literary prize twice, Patrick Lafcadio Hearn, better known as Yacumo Coizumi. We should not also forget the poet Aristotelis Valaoritis, who was also born in Lefkada,an distinguished greek writer.
Sports & nature
One of the seven Ionian Islands in the west of Greece, Lefkas (or Lefkada) is renowned for its mountainous landscape, beautiful beaches and lush green vegetation. Over 70% of the island is mountainous providing a playground of tracks and trails for keen mountain bikers. Culture and history info
Lefkada is an island with a wide spiritual tradition. Its geographical position - like all the others islands of Ionian Sea - obtained a closer relationship with the West, in the years where all Continental Greece had been experiencing the spiritual Middle Age of Turkish Domination.
The temperamental Heptanisian culture and the unique feature of the island, full of “breath of the sea, breath of the pine trees” gave to Lefkada the opportunity to give birth and nurture some of the most sensitive poetic souls. In this island, were born or were springs, eminent artists and scientists with Pan-Hellenic recognition and international appreciation and publicity. Agriculture had been for centuries the most important occupation of Lefkada’s inhabitants and the greatest activity which ensured their survival. The most favorite and profitable one, was the cultivation of olive - mostly on the plains - and the viniculture - on the highlands of the island- an activity which had been adored from the ancient times. Many writers - like Plinios the senior (23-79 a.c) and the Athineos (160-250 a.c) the writer of “Deipnosophistae” - referred the famous wine of Lefkada. Except from agriculture, other profitable activities, are stock breeding, fishing, trade and practical crafts of everyday life.
The agriculture and stock breeding activities helped to arise and stabilized, by creating their own tradition, occupations which had been self evident in the small agricultural societies: The ploughman, the reaper, the thresher, the miller, the oil presser, the digger, the chimney man. The rest of the traditional occupations: the cobblers, the cooper, the blacksmith, the tailor, the merchant - had been completing and framing the leading occupations of the families.
